HE WHO TRUSTS IN GOD WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED
In the hardest times in our lives, that is when we must trust God with our lives.
HE WHO TRUSTS IN GOD WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED
Psalm 121:1 “I look up to the mountains – does my help come from there?
v2 “My help comes from the Lord. Who made heaven and earth!
v3 “He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
v4 “Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.
v5 “The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
v6 “The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.
v7 “The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
v8 “The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”
LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS EASY
Sometimes you go through hard times in your life
-
When it feels nothing is working out.
-
When it feels nobody sees you
-
When it feels like nobody cares
You feel alone in this dark world.
THE HORRIBLE THING IS:
Sometimes it feels as if God does not hear your prayers or cries for help. Yes, sometimes it feels as if God is not there for you (this is not true).
THIS IS JUST HOW YOU FEEL
When we feel like this, we must know, the devil wants to use these feelings plant doubt in our minds, about God, our religion and our beliefs.
AS CHILDREN OF GOD WE MUST UNDERSTAND WE ARE NOT ‘FEELING-PEOPLE’
WE ARE ‘BELIEF-PEOPLE’
We believe in God and that he cares for us (that is why we serve Him).
2 Cor 5:7 “For we live by believing and not by seeing.”
AN IMPORTANT VERSE WE NEED TO REMEMBER:
Rom 8:28 “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAYS:
This means everything that happens to us is good for us
-
We don’t always understand this
-
The good things that happen, we are happy about
-
Bad things happen and we don’t always understand them
However, God says everything that happens, good or bad, he uses everything for the good of those who believe in Him.
How many times have you been able to look back on your life?
How many times have you been able to see how God used a bad situation or a bad thing that happened to you for the good of your life?
STORY:
There was once a man who ended up on a deserted island. Nobody else was there, he was alone and had absolutely nothing with him that could possible help him survive.
He built himself a little shelter out of wood, to protect him from the cold and the rain.
With his hands, he dug a hole to find fresh water to drink.
One day, he had to walk far to find some food to eat. On his way back, he saw smoke in the distance. He ran in the direction of the smoke and found his shelter on fire.
He fell down to the ground near the shelter and cried and cried. What else could possibly go wrong in his life?
Not 3 hours later, a big ship threw anker close to the island’s shore. And people rowed to the island on small boats.
When they got to the island the man asked them how they knew where to find him. Their answer was that they saw the smoke on the island and knew someone is in trouble.
LESSON FROM THE STORY:
That which was bad for the man in the island (his shelter burning down) was what led to his rescue.
LESSON FOR US:
In the hardest times in our lives, that is when we must trust God with our lives.
God is trustworthy.
DAVID KNEW THIS THAT IS WHY HE SAYS:
Psalm 121:2 “My help comes from the Lord. Who made heaven and earth!
v3 “He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
