FIGHT HARD TO GET INSIDE
Where are you headed if you were to die today or tomorrow, or next week?
FIGHT HARD TO GET INSIDE
THREE IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
1. We aren’t going to live forever
2. There is a heaven
3. There is a hell
The question is: Where are you headed if you were to die today or tomorrow, or next week?
Jesus tells His people in Luke 13:23-25 “Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” He Replied, “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’”
How many people will be saved? How many people will go to heaven? Jesus doesn’t give the answer to this question, however, He does say the following to motivate us: “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom,” The amplified says: “Strive to enter through the narrow door [force aside unbelief and the attractions of sin]”
Matthew 7:13-14 says it like this: v13: “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate it wide for the many who choose
that way. v14: “But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it”
JESUS USES THE EXAMPLE OF A ROAD
Everyone who has been driving before knows that a wide road is better than a narrow one. It just drives better, overtakes easier etc. A narrow road requires more concentration to stay on the road.
LISTEN TO WHAT THE LORD SAYS:
The road is wide that leads to hell.
The road is narrow that leads life.
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE:
Everyone hears the Gospel of Christ but not everyone’s lives are changed
– They don’t listen to the Word of God.
– God is at the door to their hearts, knocking, but they refuse to let Him inside.
– They simply don’t want to change.
– They are busy with the wrong things, things God hates.
– Church and worship just isn’t an answer for them.
THE TRUTH IS THIS:
If you have never wanted to give your heart to Jesus, then you are on the wide(easy) road. The road that will ultimately lead to hell.
THE NARROW ROAD HAS PEOPLE ON WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES TO
JESUS CHRIST.– God’s word is important to them.
– Obedience to God is important to them.
– It is important for them to shine a light in this dark world.
– Their relationship with God is important to them.
This is the road that leads to life.
God’s encouragement is this:
He says:
– Work hard to go in
– Stay focused
– Do and live God’s Word
Proverbs 3:5-7
v5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding”
v6 “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take”
v7 “Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil”
IT’S SIMPLE:
Work hard to enter through the narrow gateway
God wants us to go inside
He wants us to have eternal life
SERVE THE LORD WITH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE AND WORK HARD TO
STAY ON THE NARROW ROAD.
