THE LORD IS A GOOD FATHER
One of the qualities of being a good father is to see your child succeed in life. How many times have we heard people say: “It is not going so good with me because it’s not going so good with my children” OR “If it is going good with my children, then I am also happy”. It is the heart of every parent to give their best for their child. If your child comes to you and asks for a sandwich, you will give him a sandwich.
THE LORD IS A GOOD FATHER
One of the qualities of being a good father is to see your child succeed in life. How many times have we heard people say: “It is not going so good with me because it’s not going so good with my children”
OR
“If it is going good with my children, then I am also happy”.
It is the heart of every parent to give their best for their child. If your child comes to you and asks for a sandwich, you will give him a sandwich.
You have a job and you work hard at your job to earn money to provide for your family.
-
You want a roof over their heads
-
You want to provide them with clothes to wear
-
You want to provide them with food to eat
WHY?
Your love for them drives you to care and provide for them. To the best of your ability of course.
GOD LOVES YOU, YOU ARE HIS CHILD. And he says the following which we as his children can old onto because he is a good father and he loves us.
Matt 7:7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
V8 “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
V9 “You parents – if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead?
V10 “Of if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!”
V11 “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
WHO IS SPEAKING HERE?
The son of God, Jesus himself speaks to us about the heart of a father. If it comes so naturally to us, to do good to our children. How much more does God not know to do good to his children?
HE KNOWS YOU NEED FOOD:
-
He knows we need clothes
-
He knows everything about us (there is nothing we can hide from God)
LOOK AT WHAT GOD SAYS:
Matt 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
v25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
v26 “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
v27 “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
v28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing.
v29 “Yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
v30 “And if God cares so wonderfully for the wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
v31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
v32 “These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
v33 “Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need”
v34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
This is the word of the Lord, and everyone who takes the word of God seriously and live according to it,
FOR THEM
This word is a truth, because God is not human, and does not lie.
